A few good questions.
What can I save?
GitHub repositories, SaaS apps, websites, and links to posts. CaptureMem summarizes the content it can access and keeps the original link. Pages behind a login, paywall, or platform restriction may need you to add context. License details apply to repositories, not ordinary app or website links.
How does saving from my phone work?
Install the CaptureMem Apple Shortcut and configure it once with your capture token. Then share a link to it from your iPhone’s share sheet. On desktop, the Chrome extension saves the current page. Installation and setup are required.
Can it extract repos from an Instagram carousel?
You can save an Instagram post link today. Automatically reading the carousel images and extracting repositories is still in development. Saving a post does not yet import the repos pictured in it, and Instagram may restrict access to the post content.
What is MCP, and do I need it?
MCP is a standard that lets a compatible AI assistant use tools from another app. CaptureMem’s read-only MCP connection lets your assistant search and read your library after you authorize it. You can also use CaptureMem’s own search and folders without MCP. Assistant availability and connection requirements vary by client.
What does Unlimited include?
The $20/month plan includes unlimited saved links, folders, and tags, plus the features listed above. “Unlimited” refers to your library, not unlimited third-party AI usage. An AI assistant’s subscription or usage fees, if any, are separate. Paid checkout is not available yet.
Is my library private?
Your library is scoped to your account. Connected assistants receive read-only access after your authorization, and you can revoke access. You can keep personal notes, edit your organization, and export your collection.
